Yet another frustrating week, played in blustery conditions thankfully the rain held off. Well its now two defeats in two games now but we knew tougher games were coming up after the great start to the season weve had.
The game was only a few minutes old when the hosts took the lead. Ben got the equalising goal for Whitehill and Ronan wrapped up both ours and the games scoring from a corner however the hosts had put a few goals past us in between. We managed to create a few chances during the game but were unable to capatilise on them.
The second game seemed more even than the first but the hosts manged to rack up a few goals and had it not been for Corey in goal pulling off a couple of quality saves the score would have been more. Unfortunately we didnt get on the scoresheet but it wasnt for lack of trying as the hosts keeper also pulled off a few quality saves.
The referee's need to be informed off the back pass rule as todays referee didnt play it but others have. This not only confuses the kids but the adults as well. Perhaps the host team should inform the referee of this ruleing before every game. The hosts were the stronger of the two sides today so theres no real complaints there. However the referee made quite a few incorrect decisions. Several times he got throw-ins wrong and a couple of the Hoyland players went down hurt and he didnt seem to stop play until Whitehill had the ball. He tended to be (in my opinion) slightly biased towards the home side. Hoyland will be quite a tough team to beat at home especially with this official incharge. I dont normally have a moan at referees but today was an exception due to the fact in my opinion he seemed to favour the home side and there were no real consistency with his decisions.
